Speaking of authentic South Indian Chettinad food, we felt there was a void, especially in the Western New York region. The idea of bringing a South-Indian Chettinad Restaurant to this region sprang out of an impromptu evening conversation between Kali and Anto about mouthwatering South-Indian food!

South-Indian food lovers had to travel several miles outside of the Western New York region to discover authentic South-Indian Chettinad delicacies. We felt compelled to bridge this gap in the best interest of not just the Indian community – in fact, we also wanted to create an opportunity for other foodies in this region to experience the magic of authentic Chettinad flavors.

Fast-forward to the present day, we feel ecstatic having launched the first ever South-Indian Chettinad restaurant in the Western New York region!

I wasn't sure what to expect here. I was hoping there would be a lunch buffet, but there was not. Overall, food was delicious! They have a wide variety of items to choose from. The atmosphere is clean, nice, and quiet. The waiter we had was not on his game at all, we ordered an appetizer and did not receive it (at least we weren't charged), he delivered our food to the wrong table, and we had to flag him down to get more drinks. My biggest complaint is the water they provide was not cold, and they carry no soda like Coke, Pepsi, etc.

My first time, I enjoyed the 5 Taste Dosa and can't wait to go back. I was surprised to see some reviews mentioning poor service, I did not find that to be the case. My server explained my dish, and checked to be sure I enjoyed it!!!

Being from the South of India, I can attest that this is amazing and authentic South Indian cuisine. Great ambience and service. Felt like I was back home, thank you for the world class Indian hospitality 🙂

Love the south Indian as well as north Indian as well too good. Catered the food recently, it was fantastic. Quantity us well justified and enough as well.

This is really very good place to eat yummy South Indian foods. We went for dinner and really we ate yummy dishes. Specially chicken Briyanie, Parotta with chicken curry, chicken lollipops, Ghee roast with varieties of chutney and it was Very good service.

Around Buffalo currently the best food to experience the great authentic Indian food. I received the food faster than I expected but certain dishes takes time and they are also trying to improve a lot where I give a thumbs up for these guys. If you guys are interested please do try, you will not be disappointed and also the rasamalai is 😘 !

Spacious seating, welcoming staff and awesome south Indian food. Must visit and eat their thali. They serve it on a banana leaf and its good enough for two people.

It is nice culinary addition to Buffalo. We like food and take our guests and friends there. They continue to bring special dish on different occasions.

I wanted to try it out! The curry tastes just like my uncle's family recipie from india. The other dishes I had on the sample platter were very good though I could not tell you what they were called. It was recommended by the waiter. And i was more than satisfied.

Haven't had better South Indian food anywhere else in my 2 years in the country! Authentic flavours, quick service and friendly staff are just a few of the reasons to not miss out on this place. The menu alone is enough to make your mouth water. For me, as a Tamilian pining for home, Nellai Banana Leaf truly was a gateway back home, from the moment I entered the restaurant till the moment I left.
