South-Indian food lovers had to travel several miles outside of the Western New York region to discover authentic South-Indian Chettinad delicacies. We felt compelled to bridge this gap in the best interest of not just the Indian community – in fact, we also wanted to create an opportunity for other foodies in this region to experience the magic of authentic Chettinad flavors.
Fast-forward to the present day, we feel ecstatic having launched the first ever South-Indian Chettinad restaurant in the Western New York region!
We cook with our hearts. We serve with love. Come, and experience this homestyle cooking devoid of any chemical preservatives, food colors, MSG, artificial flavors, or anything else of that sort – our assurance to you is our superhigh quality Chettinad food that your taste buds will relish. Donʼt take our word. Taste it and see for yourself!
Youʼre welcome 😉
Food was great. My dish came out 15 minutes after everybody else had finished their meal. Everybody was waiting for the check to leave and then my food came. I thought they forgot about me so I was just going to leave and then suddenly the food came. I recommend ordering the dish before you leave your house and it might be ready by the time you're ready to go back home.
Haven't had better South Indian food anywhere else in my 2 years in the country! Authentic flavours, quick service and friendly staff are just a few of the reasons to not miss out on this place. The menu alone is enough to make your mouth water. For me, as a Tamilian pining for home, Nellai Banana Leaf truly was a gateway back home, from the moment I entered the restaurant till the moment I left.
Excellent food. The spicy cauliflower was amazing (and vegan!) and I loved the samosas. I see a lot of other things on the menu that might be vegan too. I’m ordering takeout today to share with my husband and I hope it doesn’t let me down! Service in the restaurant was a little inattentive - even though I was the only one there - and the water was warm, but nbd.
So, we planned for dinner on Thanksgiving day after visiting Niagara falls. It's almost 8:30pm and there is no nearby restaurant open due to the holiday. So we found this and went to Nellai banana leaf. Honestly, the best restaurant I've ever been to in the East coast. I'm not exaggerating (there might be others too, but I haven't been to one like this) the food quality is damn good. It's authentic south Indian and the people really took good care of us as we were the last people to dine there, they didn't ask us to leave or anything even after close time. Affordable and honest pricing and amazing quality♥️. Would really go there if I visit Buffalo again. I got good vegetarian options for being a chettinad restaurant. (5/5)
Great food! Great Service! Great work! Went there with my fan for a victory dinner and totally worth it! We ordered a plate of chicken lollipop and it was the star of the night for me! We also ordered 5 more entrees and they were all delicious. Definitely recommend a visit here! Visit here with your family and you'll love it.
